The rift between the government and Hezbollah continues to deepen. The ceremony held Sunday in Beirut’s southern suburbs to mark the second commemoration of Hezbollah’s former secretary general Hassan Nasrallah’s assasination took place in the absence of state or security agencies representatives.Hezbollah even accuses President Joseph Aoun of being behind the boycott, at a time when relations between the two sides are strained and contacts are virtually frozen. Also, no prominent political figures, with the exception of Marada leader Sleiman Frangieh, attended the commemoration.
