All comments are reviewed by L’Orient Today’s team to ensure they comply with the principles outlined below. By commenting on our articles, you agree to adhere to these rules of conduct:

We reserve the right to remove comments that include:
- Defamatory, religiously offensive, abusive, violent, obscene, provocative, racist or otherwise inappropriate language
- Aggressive or threatening language
- Personal attacks against other readers; we encourage debate based on arguments, not insults
- Pornographic content, paedophilia, vulgarities or obscenities
- Content offensive to human dignity
- Off-topic or out-of-context contributions
- Comments in languages other than French, Arabic or English, where the meaning could be misunderstood or could appear to violate our guidelines
- Messages disparaging L’Orient Today, its journalists or its management team
- Posts containing personal information (e.g., addresses, emails, phone numbers)
- Repeated posting of identical or very similar messages, or comments limited to a few words or onomatopoeia; please note that all comments are reviewed, so there is no need to submit the same comment multiple times.
Comments are not published instantly but are reviewed at regular intervals. It may take between 5 to 60 minutes for your comment to be approved and appear online if sent during working hours.
Each comment is either accepted or rejected in its entirety; moderators do not edit the content.
The moderation decisions are never based on political views.
The "Comments" section of L’Orient Today is not a forum for discussion between users. Comments must focus solely on personal opinions regarding the article in question.
Moderators reserve the right to enforce these rules by refusing to publish or by deleting any comment that violates this charter.
Under no circumstances may the "Comment" section be used to launch or exchange personal attacks (whether explicit or veiled) against other users.
By posting your comment, you accept and agree to follow the rules outlined above.
