Israeli army demolishes houses in Lebanon while Hezbollah claims 49 attacks against Israel

The Israeli army demolished houses in South Lebanon overnight from Thursday to Friday as ground fighting continues between Hezbollah and Israeli troops.

During the day on Thursday, the Israeli army's air force bombed 22 villages in southern Lebanon, while its artillery shelled 18 others, according to our correspondent in the region. Israeli also demolished houses in three locations. Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed 49 attacks against the Israel.

At midnight, an Israeli drone carried out a strike on a house near a center belonging to the Islamic Health Committee, on the Kafra-Sarbine road in the district of Bint Jbeil. The al-Rissala scout center announced it had evacuated its headquarters in the area due to ongoing Israeli attacks in the vicinity of the building. Bombings also targeted the outskirts of the villages of Rashaya al-Foukhar, Hasbaya, and Kfour, in the district of Nabatieh.

Hezbollah, for its part, claimed several attacks during the night. It announced that its fighters detonated an explosive device as an Israeli patrol passed through the Deir Hanna sector in the village of Bayada (Sour), claiming to have "caused injuries" and that a helicopter came to evacuate them. It also attacked a gathering of soldiers in the Israeli region of Malikiye and fired a salvo of rockets at another military group in Dayshum. Hezbollah also said it shelled the Israeli village of Kfar Yuval. On Friday morning, Hezbollah again targeted Israeli soldiers in Malikiye before firing several rockets at Kiryat Shmona and Metula.

Israel claimed it has killed "about 1,000 Hezbollah fighters" since the renewed escalation of the war. The Israeli army's Arabic-language spokesperson Ella Waweya indicated that "so far, about 1,000 fighters have been eliminated, including a large number of senior commanders and hundreds affiliated with the Radwan Force," Hezbollah’s elite unit. She added that caches containing funds belonging to the al-Qard al-Hassan association have been targeted.
