After the visits of Iran’s foreign minister and parliament speaker, Ali Larijani, an advisor to Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, arrived in Beirut on Friday. This move cannot go unnoticed at a time when diplomatic efforts are ongoing toward a cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah, Iran’s armed wing in Lebanon. The senior Iranian official used the usual diplomatic language to affirm Tehran’s support for the ongoing efforts. He said he is in favor of any decision the Lebanese authorities will take in this regard.
