Gaza, Lebanon, and then?

Israel, through its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, no longer hides its desire to break the ‘axis of resistance’ to reshape the Middle East through brute force. And why not? Aren’t we, the peoples of the East, mere variables in the kitchens of various imperialist forces that remodel the Levant according to their needs? This contempt we endure as the populations of the Mashreq, despite our struggles since the Ottoman Empire for independence against authoritarianism and obscurantism, is a source of daily rage. How can we not feel anger at the sight of our ancient cities destroyed at the pace of imperialist wars and revolutions crushed by tyrants in general indifference?Many are unaware that the last reshaping of the region occurred during the Obama era.
