Cease-fire in Lebanon and Gaza

On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas launched its unprecedented and bloody ‘al-Aqsa Flood’ offensive against Israel. More than 1,000 Israelis were killed and around 250 were taken hostage. Within hours, Israel responded by bombing the Gaza Strip, triggering a devastating war.
On Oct. 8, 2023, Hezbollah opened their ‘support front.’ From the summer of 2024, after a long period of low intensity, the war in Lebanon intensified with Israel’s devastating targeting southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, the southern suburbs of Beirut and even certain districts in the heart of the Lebanese capital.
A cease-fire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel finally came into force on Nov. 27, 2024. After 15 months of Israel’s onslaught on Gaza and more than 46,600 deaths, a truce agreement between Israel and Hamas was also reached on Jan. 15, 2025.
