Gaza war

On Oct. 7, Hamas launched the al-Aqsa Flood operation on southern Israel, attacking by land, water, and air. More than 1,000 Israelis were killed and around 250 were taken hostage. Initially regarded as a retaliation, Israel launched its own offensive on Gaza, vowing to destroy Hamas.
Israel has killed over 36,000 Palestinians, the overwhelming majority civilians, while Hamas remains active throughout Gaza. The onslaught has displaced most of the Strip’s population and destroyed more than half of its buildings.
Though its closest allies continue supplying military support, pressure on Israel mounts both internationally — as it stands trial for genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) — and domestically, where protests are gaining momentum.
