"Tripoli and Syria are one." As festivities swept the majority of Syria on Monday, several regions in Lebanon, particularly those with Sunni majorities, joined in unison to celebrate the first anniversary of the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.In Tripoli, the capital of North Lebanon, the joyful demonstrations that began Sunday night continued throughout the day on Monday. Just like last year, a-Nour Square in downtown was draped in the colors of the Syrian revolution flag, carried by dozens, then hundreds, of Lebanese and Syrians gathered to commemorate the overthrow of "the tyrant."'The people of Tripoli are as happy as the Syrians'"This day is sacred, the best day of our lives.
