In partnership with the Social Affairs Ministry, Internet service provider IDM is launching an offer for people with disabilities. On Tuesday, it announced the implementation of the "Internet for all" initiative, in collaboration with the ministry. This initiative aims to provide low-cost services to people with disabilities, reported the state-run National Information Agency (NNA).
Social Affairs Minister Hanine Sayyed said that "digital inclusion is essential for ensuring social justice and equal opportunities." She stated that her ministry had already taken several steps to remove obstacles to the "full participation of people with disabilities in social life."
The chairman of IDM's board of directors, Maroun Shammas, said that access to the Internet for people with disabilities "is a national duty, especially in the era of artificial intelligence."
According to a statement, the new "Internet for all" service includes various options tailored to the users' needs. Subscribers will benefit from the first month free, with activation and service setup free of additional charges, a free wireless router, 24/7 technical support, and reduced monthly rates.
The offer can be obtained upon presentation of a valid disability card issued by the Social Affairs Ministry and is valid until the end of 2025.
