In early April, the Lebanese army closed several official and informal entrances to the Beddawi Palestinian refugee camp, on the outskirts of Tripoli in Northern Lebanon. These measures coincided with recent discussions about the disarmament of Palestinian factions in the camps in Lebanon, more than a year and a half after Oct. 7 in Gaza and the war between Israel and Hezbollah that weakened the party and its Palestinian ally, Hamas.The measures taken in Beddawi followed a series of confrontations between camp residents and the neighborhood.
