BEIRUT — The remnants of an unexploded missile embedded in the ground was found by a citizen in a farming area in the outskirts of Mriyata (Zgharta) Monday, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the north reported.
"While a citizen was gathering firewood in a farming area in Mriyata he came across a suspicious object," L'Orient Today's correspondent reported.
A patrol from Lebanese intelligence, the Lebanese Army and security forces arrived at the scene, establishing a security cordon. A military expert was present to examine the suspicious object in preparation for taking the necessary measures, according to our correspondent.
"Upon inspection, it was found that the remnants were an unexploded missile embedded in the ground," L'Orient Today's correspondent said.
In August, an unexploded missile had also landed in North Lebanon's Zgharta district. The incident had coincided with an Israeli strike on the al-Shayrat airbase in Syria's Homs province.
