Sassine in itself is a landmark of Beirut, home to a mix of residential apartments, offices, universities such as AUST, hospitals such as Hotel Dieu, retail shops, and ABC mall. Sassine's food and beverage (F&B) outlets cater primarily for daytime dining but the area does not fall short as a nighttime destination as well.The zone has remained stable over the last year, with 1.1 percent growth in the market, home to 89 establishments now compared to 88 F&B outlets in 2023. Since April 2023, seven F&B outlets have closed including the multi-national KFC which had been operating in the middle of Sassine Square for more than eight years.Still, the neighborhood has welcomed six new venues since Hodema’s last report in 2023, most of which are positioned in the low end with a mix of international, European and Arabic cuisines. ...
