Lebanon's July consumer price index (CPI), published on the Central Administration of Statistics' new website, showed a second consecutive monthly decrease of 0.03%, following the 0.75% drop recorded in June.The marginal decline, probably due to methodological adjustments made by the CAS in recent years, is the first since June and July 2019, the last months before the economic crisis that caused the Lebanese lira to lose most of its value and heavily impacted the banking sector.These variations have not changed the strong trend of inflation in the country, with the CPI still up 15.69% year over year (compared to 17.25% at the end of June 2025) and 14.5% on average over the first seven months of 2026 (compared to 14.8% over the 12 months of 2025).In its latest report on Lebanon published Friday, the World Bank expects inflation...
