Twelve people, including three who are on the run, are suspected of voluntary homicide and kidnapping. The investigating judge said the motive for the murder remains "still unclear."
The murder of Pascal Sleiman, a Lebanese Forces official who was kidnapped and killed in April 2024, was not a botched car theft but a premeditated murder, according to an indictment issued by Nada Asmar, Mount Lebanon’s first investigating judge. Yet in the 17-page document, reviewed by L’Orient-Le Jour, Asmar does not address the motive behind the killing.
