SOUTH LEBANON — The security situation remains tense in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army continued its strikes, artillery fire, and demolition operations in several localities on Tuesday.

A drone strike targeting a car on the outskirts of Nabatieh kiled the driver of the vehicle, Ali Sabbah, who died from his injuries later that day, according to our correspondent. He had been hospitalized at Al-Najda al-Shaabiya Hospital in Nabatieh. The strike injured several others.

Responders from the al-Rissala Scouts were dispatched to assist those targeted and were themselves attacked by a drone strike. An ambulance was damaged, but no casualties were reported among the rescuers.

Still in the Nabatieh district, Israeli artillery struck the outskirts of Zawtar Sharqieh, where demolition operations also took place. A fire also broke out on the outskirts of Nabatieh Fawqa, below the Tallet al-Debesh area, after Israeli artillery fire.

In the Bint Jbeil district, Israeli tanks advanced from Haddatha toward the outskirts of Aita al-Jabal, accompanied by automatic weapons fire in the area. The Israeli army also set fire to homes in Haddatha (Bint Jbeil) and opened fire on the town with machine guns, reports our correspondent in southern Lebanon.

In Kafra, the Israeli army launched a stun grenade, causing no injuries. In Robb Thalathin, in the Marjayoun district, the Israeli army destroyed houses and roads, according to our correspondent. They also carried out explosives in the town of Qantara (Marjayoun) and detonated an explosion in the village of Majdal Zoun (Sour).

The lull in Israeli attacks in the mid-afternoon was short-lived. Mansouri was bombarded again, this time by Israeli artillery, which also fired on Kfar Tibnit, the outskirts of Dohat Kfar Roummane (Nabatieh district) and the outskirts of Zibqin (Sour) later in the day. Simultaneously, a drone dropped explosives on a wooded area in Beit Yahoun (Bint Jbeil). Meanwhile, other Israeli drones dropped two stun grenades on the villages of Rshaf and Beit Yahoun (Bint Jbeil). Israeli machine-gun fire was also reported in the direction of the village of Srebbine (Bint Jbeil).

Furthermore, two people sustained minor injuries following the explosion of an old device in the Touline Valley (Marjayoun district), our correspondent in southern Lebanon reported, citing the head of the village council, Said Moussa. The two civilians were inspecting their home when the incident occurred.

Finally, the municipality of Zawtar Sharqieh (Nabatieh district) called on President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and the government to intervene immediately to put an end to the dynamiting and bulldozing of houses in the village.

Ali Taher targeted by Israeli army

The Israeli army had already continued its escalation in southern Lebanon overnight from Monday to Tuesday, particularly on the strategic hill of Ali Taher, in the Nabatieh district, our correspondent reported.

On Monday evening, the Israeli artillery fired several missiles on Ali Taher, an area surrounded by the Israeli army. The army could soon launch an operation there if the Lebanese army does not agree to enter, take control, and dismantle Hezbollah's military infrastructure.

Missiles also landed in Mansouri, in the Sour district, while explosions were heard in communal lands in the area. Two airstrikes by Israeli fighter jets then destroyed houses in the area. The Israeli army also demolished homes in Qantara and Adshit al-Qsair, in the Marjayoun district.

Later in the night, new strikes targeted Ali Taher, and two demolition operations were reported in Taybeh, in the Marjayoun district. Explosions and strikes were heard in several villages in the Sour and Nabatieh districts. After 1 a.m., Israeli artillery struck Wadi Hojeir, near Qantara, while artillery fire also targeted the Ali Taher forest.
