At the entrance of Hady Sy’s new exhibition at Saleh Barakat Gallery, a monumental crucifix — a black iron wall sculpture — opens its arms to visitors. Titled "Self-Portrait," the work is made of irregular links, circles and bars: neither perfect curves nor straight lines. This Christ figure has no head.The artist photographed himself standing before the work, arms outstretched like Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man.
