Welcomed by his American counterpart to the White House in a friendly atmosphere and facing a barrage of questions from reporters, the president saw the first tangible results of his Washington gamble.He hopes that his "very good" meeting with Donald Trump will encourage Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon and pave the way for Hezbollah's disarmament without triggering the much-feared internal confrontation.Only time will tell whether the one-on-one meeting will produce the desired results.
