Like every outgoing U.S. president who establishes a cultural center dedicated to their legacy, Barack Obama has inaugurated his own in Chicago, with an unmistakably personal touch.

Inaugurated on June 18 in Chicago’s South Side — longtime home to the Obama family, where Michelle and Barack lived, their daughters were born, and his political journey began before entering the White House from 2008 to 2016 — the Obama Presidential Center commemorates the 44th president of the United States, who left a lasting impression.
