A judicial source told L’Orient-Le Jour that the Military Court convicted the activists for inciting Israel to bomb Lebanese sites, and not for their hostility toward Hezbollah.

The Military Court, headed by Brig. Gen. Wassim Fayad, sentenced two activists known for their opposition to Hezbollah — Joumana Gebara and Mohammad Yassine — to 15 years in prison each for “inciting the Israeli enemy to attack Lebanon,” according to a source close to the court.The two rulings were issued recently in absentia, after authorities resorted to public notification because the defendants could not be personally served. A complaint was filed with the military prosecutor against Gebara in November 2024, following the outbreak of the war between Hezbollah and Israel.
