Israel continues its strikes on Lebanon, steps up its attacks on frontline workers

On Saturday morning, Israeli strikes on Kfar Sir (Nabatieh) targeted the headquarters of Hezbollah's rescue teams, killing four, including a rescue worker from the Islamic Health Committee affiliated with Hezbollah, and injuring four others, according to the Health Ministry.

Israel targeted a house in Tibnin, near the government hospital (Bint Jbeil). The Lebanese Civil Defense in Abbassieh (Sour) said it received a phone call from Israel threatening residents of immediate evacuation. Israel also targeted the outskirts of this village near Sour.

'Making health workers a military target'

An Israeli strike on Zifta killed three people, including a member of the Lebanese Civil Defense, and injured two, according to the Health Ministry. Also according to the ministry, an Israeli strike on Toul (Nabatieh) killed three, including a member of the Islamic Health Committee, and wounded three, including a rescue worker.

"It is now clear that the Israeli enemy is adopting a systematic method that makes health workers a military target, since they fall as martyrs during each rescue operation they undertake, which is a grave and persistent violation of international humanitarian law," the ministry further denounced in a statement.

Israel also carried out strikes on Braasheet (Bint Jbeil) as well as Mansouri, Majdel Zoun, and Qana (Sour), where one person was seriously injured. The driver of a scooter, Hussein Kamal Ghadboun, was killed today in Qana by an Israeli missile. Three missiles were fired by an Israeli army drone at a car in the locality of Teffahta (Nabatieh), injuring several people.

Israel also blew up houses in Naqoura (Sour), with plumes of smoke seen above the village. In Shamaa (Sour), the Israeli army also carried out a large explosion. Three people, including a mukhtar from Mansouri (Sour), managed to leave the village and reach the city of Sour following several days trapped under incessant bombardment.

'More than 200 strikes' in 24 hours

The Israeli army announced via its Arabic-speaking spokesperson Avichay Adraee that it had carried out "more than 200 strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over the last 24 hours." According to our correspondent in southern Lebanon, Israel targeted 39 localities in the South, 18 with drone strikes and 19 with intense artillery bombing.

For its part, Hezbollah claimed several attacks during the night and on Saturday against Israel and the Israeli army. It said it targeted Israeli soldiers and military vehicles in Shamaa (Sour), Odaisseh, and Bint Jbeil. It also conducted attacks against Kiryat Shmona, Metula, Misgav Am, Safad, Nahariya, and Ya’ara in northern Israel.

It also carried out a strike on a house in Toul (Nabatieh). Upon arrival at the scene, Israel targeted an ambulance, causing injuries. An air strike also targeted neighborhood power generators in Jibsheet (Nabatieh), causing a fire in the generators and fuel tanks.
