Amid war, Waddah Sadek in the crosshairs of pro-Hezbollah supporters

MP Waddah Sadek has found himself, in recent days, the target of a smear campaign. Internet users in Hezbollah's orbit have attacked the Sunni Beirut MP from Beirut, going so far as to label him an "enemy" or a "Zionist." Of course, this is not the first time that supporters of the Shiite militia — held responsible for a string of assassinations of intellectuals and politicians between 2005 and 2013, and even after — have violently gone after opponents and made threats. But in the current context of rising tensions and increasing polarization, this raises fears of a security breakdown.
