In Ain Saadeh, on a hilltop overlooking Beirut, uncertainty still reigns the day after the unprecedented strike on a residential building which killed a Lebanese Forces official and his wife. According to our journalists, some residents say that the the third-floor apartment targeted was unoccupied. "When I heard the explosion, I didn't think it was near my home. Then I heard screams and realized they had targeted next door. But there was no one," Aida told our onsite journalist Lyana Alameddine.

On Monday morning, the Israeli army claimed in a message on X that it had "attacked a [Hezbollah] target east of Beirut yesterday," adding that "reports about injuries among non-combatant Lebanese are being verified. The incident is under review."
