Lebanese NGOs struggle amid the surge in humanitarian needs
Another obstacle arises as some donors hesitate to get involved due to prejudices and stereotypes regarding areas that are the most targeted by Israeli attacks.

Needs are soaring while donations are declining, several NGOs told L’Orient-Le Jour, as they struggle to keep up with the humanitarian crisis amid the Israeli war on Lebanon, which erupted on March 2 after Hezbollah's attack.Israeli attacks and threats since then have displaced more than 800,000 people. They have also killed over 886 people and injured 2141 others, according to the Health Ministry.The drop in donations is largely due to Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis, said Mona Kanaan, director of the Lebanese Food Bank, which tackles food insecurity.“People who used to donate thousands of dollars no longer do so.
