BEIRUT — The 17-year-old Lebanese who is accused of sexually harassing six-year-old students from Saint-Coeurs Ain Najm school during a field trip to the VeréBleu amusement park in Dayshounieh, in Metn district, last May has been referred to juvenile court, according to a judicial source.
The Mount Lebanon indictment chamber, presided over by Judge Dora al-Khazen and composed of Ali Khatib and Hamza Sharafeddine, made the referral, having charged him with harassment and denied his request for release. The accused was detained six months ago, shortly after the alleged assaults.
At the time of the incident, the minor had just been hired by the amusement center. During his interrogation, he admitted to "harassing a number of young girls who were using the park's zip line."
