BEIRUT — Pegasus Airlines announced that it will be resuming its service to and from Beirut starting on July 5, in a statement released Thursday. Air France has postponed the resumption of its service to Beirut to June 28.
The Turkish low-cost carrier had canceled its flights to and from Lebanon following the outbreak of the war between Iran and Israel, which came to a close on Tuesday following a U.S.-brokered cease-fire. During the 12-day war, several airspaces in the region, including Lebanon's, were temporarily closed.
Various airlines are announcing the resumption of flights in the region as the days pass and the cease-fire continues to hold.
Several travel agencies have also told L'Orient Today that a significant portion of travelers planning to visit Lebanon for the summer did not wait for a truce to be reached between Israel and Iran before confirming their tickets or buying new flights to Beirut.
