Since Sept. 8, information has circulated on social media and at points of sale that the credit transfer between subscribers of Lebanon’s two mobile operators, Alfa and Touch, would be discontinued. According to field information gathered by L’Orient-Le Jour and online sources, some stores have already begun blocking transactions in anticipation, while others mentioned a halt to dollar transfers between accounts starting in October.
