On Monday, at least 10 people were already behind bars upon the orders of acting prosecutor for financial crimes Dora al-Khazen in connection with the smuggling and fraud case involving medicines. This scandal, which came to light two weeks ago, notably involves M.F., sister-in-law of Ali Hassan Khalil, MP and senior official of the Amal Movement.She had partnered with another woman, Z.C., in a company that illegally imported medicines through Beirut international airport, which has since been sealed off. These were primarily cancer treatments, worth tens of millions of dollars, according to our sources.
