A fire, the cause of which is still unknown, broke out on a cargo ship off the Port of Tripoli (North Lebanon) on Saturday, injuring two people, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the north reported. Civil Defense teams, aided by the Lebanese Navy, managed to control it.
The fire was said to have broken out suddenly in the command and control center of the docked cargo ship, injuring two workers suffering from asphyxiation. The injured were treated on site. A member of the Civil Defense was also injured in the hand during the intervention and was transported by the Lebanese Red Cross to Mazloum Hospital to receive treatment.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes of the fire.
