Salam's Cabinet marks 100 days: What has it accomplished so far?

The Cabinet has drawn support from a broad segment of the Lebanese public and the international community, mainly because Hezbollah and its allies have less influence than previous governments.

BEIRUT — Monday marks 100 days since the formation of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. Formed on Feb. 8, around a month after President Joseph Aoun's election and Salam's appointment, this Cabinet comes at a time of major challenges for Lebanon. The country is still grappling with the aftermath of a 13-month conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, which spanned from October 2023 until September 2024, as well as a socio-economic crisis that began in 2019. Supported by a broad segment of the Lebanese public and the international community, partly due to Hezbollah and its allies' limited influence on the work of the Cabinet compared to previous governments, the Salam government has passed long-delayed economic reforms in a short period.
