BEIRUT — The Governor of North Lebanon, Ramzi Nohra, who was dismissed from his position by the Cabinet on Wednesday, has a long history of controversial incidents and is widely unpopular, particularly among residents of Tripoli. Although Nohra's dismissal came days after protesters blamed him for the chaos that marred Sunday’s municipal elections in Tripoli, Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar told reporters on Wednesday that the elections were not the reason for the decision.In Wednesday's session, the Cabinet decided to place Nohra at the disposal of the Interior Ministry, paving the way to the appointment of a new governor and Nohra's reassignment to a yet-to-be-determined role.  Read more Municipal elections in northern Lebanon: Key takeaways from the day According to L'Orient Today's correspondent in the North, the...
