Municipal councils elected by acclamation in several villages in Bekaa

Several municipal councils were elected by acclamation Monday in several villages in the Bekaa, just days ahead of the municipal elections scheduled for Sunday in this region as well as in Beirut.

In the village of Qalya, in West Bekaa, 12 members of the municipal council, 10 affiliated with the Amal Movement and Hezbollah and two others from the “We work together for Qelya” list, were elected by acclamation, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent.

In the Rashaya district, the municipalities of Yanta, Madoukha, Beka, Ain Arab, Hosh, Kfar Meshki, Selsata, Ain Hersha, Rashaya al-Fawqa, and Deir al-Ashayer were also elected by acclamation. Similarly, in the villages of Shehabieh, Faour, Deir al-Ghazal, and Masa, in the Zahleh district.
