The village of Doueir in south Lebanon (Nabatieh) held funerals for Ahmad and Hyam Mohammad Mahmoud, a young man and his younger sister who were killed in the Israeli strike on the southern suburbs at dawn on Tuesday, reported L'Orient Today's correspondent.
The strike targeted their building, which housed the apartment of a Hezbollah commander, Hassan Ali Bdeir, and his son Ali, both targeted in the Israeli strike, whose deaths were announced by the party. Hezbollah said on Tuesday that their funerals would be held on Wednesday in the southern suburbs.
In Doueir, the funeral procession moved through the village, with the participation of dignitaries, including a representative of the head of Hezbollah's parliamentary bloc, Mohammad Raad. Flag bearers and portraits of the two victims moved in front of the procession as the crowd chanted “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.”
Also on Wednesday, Hezbollah buried two more of its members killed in clashes with Israel. In the village of Qossibeh, south Lebanon, funerals were held for “Ali Mahfouz Mehdi, whose body was recovered in one of the border localities where clashes with the Israeli enemy occurred,” according to a statement from the party, published by the state-run National News Agency (NNA).
The second member was “the martyr on the road to Jerusalem, Ali Hussein Kajak, whose body was also found in one of the border villages, the scene of conflicts with Israel,” according to the statement. His funeral was held in his hometown of Kfar Tebnite in south Lebanon.
