After more than forty years of demands and struggle against Turkish authorities, Abdullah Öcalan, founder and historical leader of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party), made headlines Thursday by ordering his party to "lay down arms and ... dissolve," all the while "assuming the historical responsibility of this call."
