The Amal Movement and Hezbollah held a ceremony in honor of the "martyrs" of the town of Burj Rahal (Sour), one of the areas most heavily bombed by the Israeli army during its clashes with Hezbollah, fighting suspended by the cease-fire that came into effect on Nov. 27, 2024.
The ceremony, attended by Amal MP Ali Khreiss, was dedicated to commemorating the clashes of Dec. 13, 1984, between the populations of seven villages in south Lebanon, including Burj Rahal, and the Israeli army.
"Today, we commemorate our dear martyrs who fell not only so that a region could live, but also so that Lebanon and the Lebanese people could live. This battle waged by the Israeli enemy aimed to break the resistance and subjugate the people," the MP said in his speech.
