In the wake of the Nov. 27 cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah, Lebanese authorities urged displaced residents returning en masse to avoid areas hit by Israeli airstrikes, warning of the presence of cluster bombs and other unexploded ordnance, though without specifying their exact types.In 2006, Israel dropped nearly four million cluster bombs (CBUs) on southern Lebanon and western Bekaa in the final 72 hours of the conflict.
