While the Tripoli Bar Association saw a 77 percent participation in its by-elections, the Beirut Bar Association by-election has been postponed, pending an improved security situation.

Tony Frangieh and Rana Fatfat were elected to the Tripoli Bar Council on Sunday. Backed by the Marada Movement, the Future Movement (despite its suspension of political activities in 2022) and former independent presidents, Frangieh received 562 votes, and Fatfat 536. Both will serve three-year terms.Their opponents, Nazih Kawas and Georgina Assal, were supported by a coalition of political parties, including the Lebanese Forces, the Free Patriotic Movement, the Kataeb Party, the Independence Movement (led by Michel Moawad), and the Jamaa Islamiya.
