Testimonies from Beirut

Lebanon and the root of tragedies

In this episode of Testimonies from Beirut, we hand our microphone to a 77-year-old lady. Originally from Achrafieh, she looks back on the years of Civil War that Lebanon has known and compares them to the current conflict with Israel.

"I don't know how long the Lebanese will keep this desire to start again and rebuild... I don't know what keeps them going. I don't know what drives me. Now with my health problems and my age, I'm out of breath." Yet, she finds it, this breath, to tell us her memories, her fears and her view of this  "imposed war", according to her, which could lead Lebanon towards "a dark future".

Every week, we speak with men, women and even children, from all regions of Lebanon and elsewhere, to find out how the war has disrupted their daily lives. They tell us their fears and their hopes. Personal and intimate stories, to be discovered every week on all our platforms.
