“Where did my whole life go?” This was the question asked by a Lebanese man living in Choueifat, south of Beirut, after watching the destruction of his building by Israeli bombardment live on a video call with his building’s concierge.
“You watch your house burning, the building collapsing, the fire, the stones falling and the shards of glass... At that moment, the memories come flooding back. My memories... Where are my memories?” Despite the cease-fire between Hezbollah and Israel, which he doesn't believe in, he can't see the end of the nightmare into which he was plunged during the war. He tells us his heartbreaking story, and shares his sorrows, and those of his family, after losing “the fruit of a lifetime's work”.
Every week, we turn the microphone on to men, women and even children from all over Lebanon and beyond, to find out how the war between Lebanon and Israel has turned their daily lives upside down. They tell us about their experiences, but also about their fears and hopes. Personal and intimate stories, to be discovered every week on all our platforms.
