The intelligence services of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) arrested an individual on Thursday for making a false alert about an Israeli threat at a school in Zgharta, our North Lebanon correspondent reported.
The arrested person had circulated information claiming that weapons had been placed under the school building and issued an evacuation warning due to Israeli threats. The false report caused panic among students, parents and the school administration, which filed a complaint against an unknown person.
During their investigation, the ISF determined the source of the call was suspicious and eventually identified a suspect, B.M., a Lebanese teenager born in 2007. He was summoned to the police station with his father and admitted responsibility, explaining that it was meant as a "joke" for his friends. Judicial measures have been taken against him.
