The Israeli strike on a building in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Friday resulted in several civilian deaths.
Two families have already been identified and their bodies were found under the rubble, one from Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun district) and the other from Barja (Shouf district), while several people are still missing, reports our correspondent Mountasser Abdallah.
Five members of the Hamdane family from Mais al-Jabal, all civilians, died under the rubble of the targeted building. Among them were four women: Ghada Shoucair, known by the name Oum Ahmed Hamdane, Aya Hussein Ahmed Hamdane, Fatima Ahmed Hamdane, and the young girl Mariam Kassem Hamdane.
The man, Ali Mohammed Hamdane, was a scout leader in the Civil Defense. The sixth civilian victim was Jamila Akhras. Her husband, Haidar Haidar, is among the injured.
Another family of four from Barja also perished in the Israeli attack. They were Tammam Dakdouki, his wife Fatima Touba, their daughter Rola Dakdouki, and her brother-in-law, Rabih al-Moussaoui. Their deaths were announced by the municipality of Barja.
Additionally, among the many missing are civilians from the Shoucair family: Mohammed Hassan Shoucair (Abou Hassan), Férial Abdel Hussein Shoucair, her husband from the Ghazi family, and their children.
As of Saturday afternoon, the death toll from the Israeli strike on the building in the southern suburbs stood at 37 dead and 68 injured, according to the Ministry of Health.
