BEIRUT — Lebanon's carrier Middle East Airlines (MEA) has ranked third among global airlines for its in-flight dining experience in a recent study conducted by British platform MoneySuperMarket, Time Out magazine reports.
The study analyzed over 27,000 passenger reviews from more than 100 airlines, focusing on the quality of in-flight meals. Kuwait Airways topped the list with an average score of 8.6 out of 10, followed closely by Oman Air at 8.44 and MEA at 8.39.
The report indicated that Middle Eastern carriers excelled in this area, with other airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Etihad also receiving high scores of at least 7.4.
News of the ranking comes at a challenging time for the Lebanese carrier, as peaks in regional tensions amid the ongoing war in Gaza and south Lebanon frequently lead to flight schedule modifications. Several foreign airlines, including Air France-KLM and Lufthansa group, have in recent months temporarily suspended their services to Beirut, often due to insurance risks associated with the conflict.
