Bliss is a vibrant area situated around the American University of Beirut (AUB), where food and beverage (F&B) outlets are primarily frequented by students and employees of the university. Some F&B landmarks have a long history in the neighborhood, such as the well-named snack bar Bliss House, open since 1978, Snack Faysal, specializing in Lebanese savory pastries and baked goods, operating since 1984, and the famous crepe kiosk Tonino, operating since 1999. Socrate restaurant has been operating since 2009, and the strip also features the Lebanese-born concept Zaatar W Zeit.Bliss as a zone can be described as an open-air food court historically offering street food.
