BEIRUT — The UK Foreign Secretary and Defense Secretary have told L'Orient Today in an exclusive interview that they are urging for "calm heads and de-escalation" during their visit to Lebanon on Thursday.British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Defense Secretary John Healey met with Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and other officials, aiming to de-escalate tensions following Israel's deadly strike on Beirut's southern suburbs which killed one of Hezbollah's top military commanders, Fouad Shukur, on Tuesday, and the subsequent killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
