Hezbollah bristles at appointment of new Beirut airport security chief

General Fadi Kfoury is known for founding and leading the army’s Strike Force, an elite unit specialized in counter-terrorism. The unit especially gained a name during the so-called Fajr al-Jurud Operation launched against the Islamic State in 2017 along the Lebanese-Syrian border. But, more recently, General Fadi Kfoury has been named the new head of the airport security service, at the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BIA), succeeding the now-retired General Nabil Abdallah.
