On Oct. 1, 48 hours after the arrest in Egypt of the six journalists who make up the editorial team of Matsaddaqsh (literally: "Don't believe it"), the independent media outlet specializing in combating disinformation, denied, in a message on X, "six false pieces of information" found in an Interior Ministry statement published shortly before to justify their detention. Mohammad Ashraf Abu Emeira and Abdallah Qadry were arrested late on the evening of Monday, Sept. 28. The next day, Islam Barakat and Omar Helal were detained in their homes, in the governorates of Gharbiah and Port Said respectively, while Mohammad Mahmoud and Mohammad Adel were arrested in Cairo.
