Appointed on July 30, 2026, by decree of President Emmanuel Macron, Patrick Durel, the new French ambassador to Lebanon is a seasoned French diplomat with vast experience in the Middle East. Succeeding Hervé Magro, he is expected to arrive to Beirut soon.
