BEIRUT — Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Thursday reposted on X his Wednesday message criticizing Israel's "illogical" attitude and the destruction that the Israeli army continues to commit in southern Lebanon, despite the start of the implementation of the framework agreement reached in June during direct negotiations and the rounds of talks that have occurred since then.
“I am reposting what I wrote yesterday [Wednesday] after noticing that someone managed to access my account and delete it,” the prime minister initially stated, before reposting the remarks with which he condemned the attacks on the towns of Mansouri, Zawtar Sharqieh and Kfar Tibnit. Some media, including Israel's daily Haaretz, inferred that the prime minister suggested his X account had been hacked, even though he said nothing further on the subject in the message.
Israel continues to occupy several hundred square kilometers of Lebanese territory in the South and has already destroyed at least 24 villages, according to its Defense Minister Israel Katz, who repeated Thursday that the Israeli army would not leave these territories, even as negotiations between Lebanon and Israel are specifically aimed at ensuring Hezbollah's disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal.
