Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met with U.K. National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell at Ain al-Tineh on Thursday, in the presence of British Ambassador Hamish Cowell, to discuss Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon and the regional situation.
Powell then met with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Grand Serail to discuss the same issues.
No statements were made following either meeting.
The U.K. national security adviser reports directly to the British prime minister and serves as the government's chief coordinator and adviser on security, intelligence, defense and, in some cases, foreign policy.
