The finance minister sent a draft decree on July 27 that would spread out the payment of the six additional salary installments owed to public sector employees since March, over twelve months. Leagues and unions are contesting the move.

Finance Minister Yassine Jaber sent to Cabinet, on July 27, a draft implementing decree that provides for the staggering of increases owed to civil servants, military personnel and retirees, starting from March 1, 2026, over twelve months, until August 2027. The Public Sector Leagues Gathering — representing both civilian and military employees — reacted the same day: according to them, neither the law nor the Cabinet's decision contains any provision that would authorize such an installment plan.
