The death toll in Lebanon by Israeli attacks since March 2 has risen to 2,618 with 8,094 wounded, according to the updated figures from the Health Ministry, meaning 42 more deaths since Thursday. Of this total, 184 children have been killed in Israeli attacks, as well as 299 women.

Hezbollah drew Lebanon into the Middle East war on March 2 by launching attacks against Israel to avenge the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the Israeli-American offensive against Iran. Israel responded with deadly strikes. A cease-fire has been in effect since April 17, but both belligerents continue fighting, accusing each other of violating the truce.
