Israel’s ‘yellow line,’ from south Lebanon to Syria: Gaza as a blueprint for Lebanon
The U.S. ambassador to Lebanon returned to Beirut, where he is set to meet Monday with the country’s three top leaders to discuss the formation of a negotiating delegation and preparations for the next round of talks.

The map released by the Israeli army outlining the “yellow line” zone in southern Lebanon clearly suggests that Israel is preparing to significantly reshape realities on the ground — both in Lebanon and in its wider surroundings, effectively amounting to a de-facto annexation of Lebanese territory into areas already under Israeli control in Syria.The buffer zone stretches across several hundred square kilometers along the Blue Line.
